A natural preservative made from fermented radish roots. Leucidal liquid contains antimicrobial peptides derived from Leuconostoc kimchii, the same culture used in kimchi as a Korean dietary staple. Peptides also provide excellent skin moisturizing properties in serums, lotions, creams and other cosmetic products. A moisturizing study was done using a generic cream base, with and without Leucidal preservative. The base containing 1% Leucidal used as a preservative was 10% more moisturizing. Leucidal is a great water soluble preservative choice for skin and scalp formulations with a pH of 3 to 8. Add to formulations at 158 degrees F or 70 degrees C. Recommended usage is 1-4%. Leucidal is also GMO free and accepted by ECOcert as an all natural ingredient for organic cosmetics.
