Taper Candle Dipping Rack

Easy to use and makes up to 6 tapers at a time. Rack is adjustable so you can make anywhere from birthday candle size to 12" dinner tapers.
Our standard melting pot can be used as a dipping vat too!
All parts are metal so they clean easily with a heat gun from batch to batch.
To make tapers:
1. Assemble the rack according to the picture.
2. Adjust the top set of arms to the size taper that you want. The bottom set of arms should always stay at the bottom of the rack.
3. Heat wax to 155-165 degrees F (only fill vat 2/3 high to avoid overspill)
4. Tie wicking to the bottom of one of the arms and hook over the top of 2 arms, then down to the bottom of 2 arms until the rack is full. This will make taper sets that you can hang. CLICK HERE TO WATCH A VIDEO OF HOW TO WICK
5. Dip rack into wax leaving approx. 1" of wick exposed at the top.
6. Dip into room temperature water to cool before the next dip.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until the desired thickness of the taper is achieved.
8. Hang rack and cut the wick at the bottom in between tapers. When candles are partially cool, remove from rack and use a knife to cut the bottoms off smooth.
9. Use a hot 10 pt socket to form the bottoms to fit into candle holders.
We recommend only using beeswax or a high melt point wax for taper candles.
