Sand candles are a unique and fun summer activity! These candle exteriors are coating in sand giving them a fun and summery look!

Ingredients:

• Sand (wet)
• Paraffin Wax - 130MP or higher
• Wick
• Summer Fragrance Oil
• Color Dye (if desired)

Equipment:

• Scale
• Pouring pitcher
• Box or plastic bin
• Melter or double boiler
• Mold or bowl

Instructions:

1. 1. Use plastic bin or line a box with plastic bag this will be used for your sand
2. 2. Prep sand by adding water until it becomes packable and place it in the bin/box.
3. 3. Use a bowl or mold to make a well in sand and pack sand tightly around it.

1. 4. Heat wax to 220 °F then add scent and color if desired. Use up to 1.5 oz. of fragrance per lb. of wax.
2. 5. Carefully remove bowl/mold from the sand.
3. 6. Pour hot wax in the sand well that the bowl/mold created.
4. 7. Place the wick into the center of the wax once it has cooled a bit.

1. 8. Allow wax to cool completely and refill if needed.
2. 9. Remove candle from sand when completely cool and brush off excess sand.
3. 10. Heat unscented and uncolored wax to 200 °F and dip the candle in to seal the sand.
4. 11. If you wish to have a thicker layer of sand. Mix some wax and sand together into a thick slushy consistency. Apply this mixture to the outside of the candle with a spoon or spatula.

1. 12. Allow the candle to cool and enjoy!
